We prioritize the security of your financial data while using third-party services to support the app via advertising. This policy explicitly distinguishes between the financial data processed locally on your device and the data collected by our advertising partners for tracking purposes.

2. Financial & QR Data (Strictly Local)

We do not collect, store, track, transmit, or share your scanned QR code content.

  • Local Processing: All QR code parsing (PayNow UEN numbers, transaction amounts, merchant names, and photos imported from your gallery) is performed 100% locally on your device using on-device processing.
  • No Transmission: This financial transaction data never leaves your device. It is not sent to our servers, Google AdMob, or any third party.

3. Data Collected by Google AdMob (Third-Party Advertising)

SnapUEN uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google AdMob collects certain data from your device to provide relevant ads and measure advertising effectiveness. This data is collected by Google, linked to your identity, and used for tracking purposes.

What SnapUEN Does NOT Collect:

  • Precise GPS location
  • Contacts or address book
  • Browsing history outside the app
  • Microphone or audio recordings
  • Your photo library (except QR images you explicitly choose to import)
  • Financial account information or payment card details
  • Government IDs or sensitive documents

What Google AdMob Collects Through Our App:

  • Location:
    • Coarse Location: Your approximate location to serve geographically relevant advertisements.
  • Identifiers:
    • Device ID & Advertising Identifier: To track advertising performance and deliver personalized ads.
  • Usage Data:
    • Product Interaction: How you interact with the app to improve ad relevance.
    • Advertising Data: Information about ads you view and click to measure effectiveness.

    • Performance Data: App performance metrics and technical diagnostics.

You will be asked for permission via the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt ("Allow "SnapUEN" to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites?").

  • If you allow tracking: Google AdMob will use your data to deliver personalized ads relevant to your interests across different apps and websites.
  • If you ask not to track: You will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized, and we will restrict Google's use of your identifiers for tracking purposes as required by Apple's guidelines.

  • During first launch: Respond to the App Tracking Transparency prompt
  • Change later: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → SnapUEN
  • Disable personalized ads: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Personalized Ads (toggle off)

We value your trust in providing us access to your device's camera and data. We strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your information. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The app requires camera access solely for the purpose of scanning QR codes. No video or images are recorded, saved, or uploaded to any server by SnapUEN.

SnapUEN may contain links to external websites or services. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Please note that these external sites are not operated by us. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of any website you visit. SnapUEN does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take necessary action.

11. In-App Purchases

SnapUEN offers an optional one-time purchase to remove advertisements ("Lifetime Pro").

  • Payment Processing: All payment processing is handled securely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card information.
  • Purchase Data: We only receive confirmation that you have purchased the product to enable ad-free experience. No financial details are shared with us.
  • Refunds: Refund requests are subject to Apple's refund policy. Contact Apple Support for refund inquiries.

SnapUEN does not retain any user data. All QR code data is processed locally.

13. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Opt-out of personalized advertising
